Mark Pomeranz

President and CEO

Mr. Pomeranz joined Svelte Medical Systems in May of 2008 as President and CEO. Prior to joining Svelte Mark held several leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson, most notably as the Vice President of New Product Development for Cordis Cardiology and Vice President of Research and Development for Cordis Neurovascular. Before coming to Johnson & Johnson, Mark worked for Cardiac Pathways Corporation (Sunnyvale, CA), a start-up in electrophysiology as the Executive Vice President of Research and Development. Prior to Cardiac Pathways Mark worked at Cardiovascular Imaging Systems (Sunnyvale, CA) developing the first coronary IVUS catheters. Mark has also worked at Mallinckrodt (Angleton, TX) and Baxter Healthcare (Irvine, CA) Mark currently holds over 40 issued patents. Mark received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY and a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami, Florida.

Michael Johnson

CFO and Treasurer

Prior to joining Svelte Medical Systems, Mr. Johnson served as Managing Director, Technology & Operations at JPMorganChase, Executive Vice President Operations and CFO, African Continental Telecommunications Limited, Senior Vice President-Finance and Administration, National Football League, as well as several other senior management positions at AT&T. He is currently on the Board of Trustees of Boys and Girls Club of Newark, the Board of Advisors to the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Johnson holds bachelor's degrees in Economics and Finance and an MBA in Finance. He also completed additional graduate studies at the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD) in Fountainebleau, France

Tim Shannon

Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Prior to joining Svelte Medical Systems, Mr. Shannon served as President of Mentice, Inc. – a wholly owned subsidiary of Mentice, AB – an endovascular procedural simulation company based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Mr. Shannon has 20+ years of sales, sales management and marketing experience within the areas of Healthcare and Life Science. Mr. Shannon has held worldwide and domestic leadership positions at GE Healthcare, Datascope Corp. and VisualSonics, Inc. His sales and marketing background includes Bristol-Myers, GE Healthcare, U.S. Surgical Corp., Boston Scientific Corp. and Datascope Corp. Mr. Shannon has extensive market experience with implantable devices and imaging equipment within the interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, interventional radiology and surgery markets.

Mark Kielek

Vice President, Quality Assurance

Mr. Kielek joined Svelte Medical Systems with over 25 years of diversified experience in the manufacturing of medical devices and pharmaceutical products. He was employed by Johnson & Johnson for 13 years building and leading Quality organizations at McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Johnson & Johnson Medical, and Ethicon Endo-Surgery. For the past five years Mr. Kielek was with Schering-Plough Corporation directing the establishment of effective quality systems that resulted in the successful remediation of the company’s consent decree. He also held Quality leadership positions at The West Company, Playtex, Inc., and National Pharmaceutical. Mark has a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Maryland.

William Easterbrook

Director, Product Development

Mr. Easterbrook joined Svelte Medical Systems with over 20 years of medical device development experience. He has developed products from concept through commercialization supporting several clinical platforms such as Hemo and Peritineal Dialysis, Anesthesiology, Critical Care Airway Management, Interventional Cardiology, Chronic Heart Failure, Clinical Diagnostics, Diabetes Management, Advanced Drug Delivery, and Spinal Orthopedics. He holds several patents for products in Critical Care Airway Management, Chronic Heart Failure, and Advanced Drug Delivery. For five years he held positions of increasing responsibility at Johnson & Johnson Interventional Systems developing new coronary stent platforms and Cardio Technologies developing an innovative biventricular assist system for managing chronic heart failure. He was also employed by Becton Dickinson for seven years leading technology development efforts supporting Advanced Drug Delivery. For the past two years he held a leadership position at Blackstone Medical, aiding them in creating efficient product development processes and procedures, decreasing time to market and total effort expenses, which contributed to the success of its acquisition. He has a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University.

Michele Snyder

Director, Clinical Operations

Ms. Snyder joined Svelte Medical Systems, Inc. with over 20 years of diversified experience in all phases of clinical research.  She has direct experience working in pharmaceutical, medical device, CRO and biopharmaceutical arenas.  Over the past ten years she has held leadership positions in Clinical Operations and successfully led teams through all project management stages of clinical trials.

She began her clinical career in data management where she quickly advanced into a Clinical Research Associate role.  Michele accelerated her career while working at Cordis, a Johnson & Johnson company, in a Senior CRA position where she worked directly with Key Opinion Leaders for program development and execution.  Over the next five years Michele worked in the CRO environment, was exposed to many therapeutic areas and was promoted into Project Management roles.  Michele went into a leadership position within Schering-Plough before advancing into small start-up organizations in a Director capacity. 

Michele holds current certifications as a Clinical Research Professional and Project Management Professional.  She has a B.S. in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
