Richard Spencer

Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Mr. Spencer has served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing since 2011 and brings over 20 years of direct industry experience in leadership positions across the sales, marketing, business development and clinical affairs functions.

Prior to Svelte, Mr. Spencer served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Viacor, a privately-held start-up company pioneering percutaneous technologies for mitral valve repair.  He also served as Vice President of Clinical Affairs and Physician Relations at Bioheart, a company developing cell-based therapies for cardiac repair, which successfully completed an IPO in 2008.  Previous to this, Mr. Spencer was a Product Director of Stent Marketing at Cordis Cardiology, then a division of Johnson & Johnson, and a Marketing Manager at World Medical Manufacturing, a privately-held start-up company acquired by Medtronic.

Mr. Spencer holds a BA from Columbia University, a JD from the University of Florida and an MBA from Columbia Business School.  He also is an active member of the Florida Bar.
